  • Ensure a stable market for natural resources-based products by coordinating production and marketing activities.
  • Promote investment in natural resources-based industries by providing financial, technical and management assistance.
  • Engage in and encourage the private sector to engage in reforestation and industrial forestry operations through the stumpage sale system and other means.

Facility Upgrade for PCB Treatment

DENR-EMB’s Non-Combustion Destruction Facility for Persistent Organic Pollutants (Non-Com POPs Facility), has undertaken facility upgrades with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).  Using state-of-the-art non-combustion technology (in compliance with the Clean Air Act), it is the only facility in the country accredited by EMB to treat PCB oil and PCB-containing equipment with concentrations below 10,000 ppm.

Wildlife Wonders at PWRCC

The Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (PWRCC), also known as the Crocodile Farm, is the only wildlife rescue center in Palawan, located in the key city of Puerto Princesa. Since its opening in 1987, the center, strategically located on a vast 10-hectare land, has rescued over 300 animals found injured or seized by local authorities, and eventually released after reviving and rehabilitation efforts. Still, a significant number of species are currently kept and taken care of onsite.

Bukidnon Forests, Inc.

The Bukidnon Forests Inc., a subsidiary of NRDC, manages the vast forest by way of an Industrial Forest Plantation Management Agreement (IFMA) issued by the DENR. Species grown include Acacia mangium, Gmelina arborea, Eucalyptus deglupta, and Swietenia macrophylla . Tree nurseries are also operationalized which produces high-quality seedlings. The BFI is a joint project between the Philippine Government and New Zealand Government.
